About Rachel

Rachel Wehr, The Lone WolfHelping clients with their struggles, making their lives easier and less stressful is what I do. Personally, I find it extremely rewarding. One thing I hate to see is small business owners struggling with their accounting and taxes.

As a small business owner myself, I understand that you have to wear many, many hats and the to-do list never ends. I think it’s important to recognize that we can’t be experts in everything (no matter what we might think) and there are actual experts in every field who can help—and get it done the right way.  I know my expertise and passion is for helping other business owners with their accounting and taxes. I use my connections in the business community to get everything else done for myself and for my clients. It makes a positive difference in our bottom lines!

Accounting with a Positive Attitude

Throughout my 28 years of public accounting experience, I’ve worked with many different types of businesses, individuals and software. There is a large amount of problem-solving involved in accounting. It’s very much like building puzzles and finding the right pieces to fit together. I find it fascinating and exciting!

My introduction to accounting happened in my senior year at Southern Lehigh High School. From my very first class, I was in love with accounting. I went on to study at Lehigh County Community College, with a double major in Accounting and Business Management. I finished my BS in Accounting, Cum Laude at Cedar Crest College while working in public accounting.

Business and Family Balance

I’m happily married to my high school sweetheart, Don Wehr, and we have two terrific growing kids who keep us very busy and entertained. Don is an entrepreneur too.

Our home is known as The Wehr Zoo. Our extended family of pets currently includes three large dogs, ferrets, tortoises, a bird, guinea pig, lizards, fish, hamster, dwarf frogs, and a chinchilla. There is never a dull moment! We also enjoy hiking, biking, Miami Dolphins football, drag races, Lehigh Valley Phantoms ice hockey, and most sports—anything to keep us outside and active.

Family time is very precious and I am grateful that Don and I have flexible businesses that balance out the busy times so we can support each other and our family’s activities.  I know that work-life balance is achievable. Just ensure that your priorities come first and I promise, the rest will fall into place.
